I’ve been thinking about having my eyelids lifted for a long, long, long time. I looked at photographs of myself with my granddaughter and my daughter, and I’d just think I had no eyes. I had no eyelids. They were completely drooping, and I didn’t want to look like that anymore. And then I found that I was putting mascara on and I wasn’t putting it on my eyelids, and it was on the top of my eyes. So it never stayed on my lashes, it was on my eyes, and it was just driving me mad. My mother kept saying to me, “You look so tired, you look so tired. You look so tired.” And I just thought, actually, I need to do something. Simon was recommended. I then contacted his secretary through Sapphire Eye Care, and it went from there. He took a look and said, “Yep, I can do this. It will make a huge difference. We’ll get a good result.” And I just explained to him that I didn’t want to look 20 years younger. I just wanted to be able to put eyeshadow on and it not end up in the wrong place. And I never felt pressurised or pushed into anything at any time. Everything happened smoothly, efficiently, calmly, and a total confidence in them. They were just absolutely amazing. And I just laid there and allowed him to do what he needed to do. It wasn’t painful. Little bit uncomfortable a couple of times putting local anaesthetic in, but nothing out of the ordinary. After the procedure, my husband was waiting outside, took me home, and it was just a case of sitting on the sofa, taking some simple analgesia, and I actually worked from home doing phone calls to my patients that I work for. Nobody could see me, but I worked from day two, but taking it easy at home. And within a week, I was back at work in the operating theatre. The biggest thing for me, I can stand there in the morning, I can put makeup on my eyes. You can see my eyelids, you can see my eye makeup, and I don’t look like a clown with a black line of mascara on my eyelids. There is a scar line but it’s actually in the crease of the eyelid, and I think you’ll be hard pushed to see it. I really wanted to look natural. I didn’t want it to look like I’d had cosmetic surgery, and that’s exactly what I got. I look awake, alive. My mother never tells me I look tired anymore. Best thing I did. The overall experience with Sapphire Eye Care and Simon Rogers is just absolutely amazing, and if anybody’s ever considering this surgery, then I couldn’t recommend them high enough.
